Newsletter September 6-9
? We had a great first week of school. We are really enjoying getting to know the children and their sweet personalities. I hope everyone had a great long weekend.
? We are sending home lunch numbers. If you could help your child memorize their number, it would help our line to move quickly. Your childís number is at the top of this newsletter, by their first name.
? We are learning all about words that rhyme and we are focusing on one nursery rhyme a week. Last week was Jack be Nimble. This week is Little Miss Muffet.
? We are starting our first Science unit, learning about our senses. We will use the coconut from Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom, (a book we have read.) To use and learn about our 5 senses.
? In math we are learning the numbers 1-5 and learning about patterns. Look for patterns everywhere you go?
? I have started letter and reading assessments and we are working on our alphabet. It is important for the children to know the letters, out of order, the sound the letter makes and at least one word that starts with that letter sound. This is our end of the year goal. Any review of these concepts done at home is wonderful.
? Our web site is down. We will try to have it up and running by Tuesday.
